Welcome to Prairie Gardens, where for the past 100 years, people have been gathering and growing, setting down roots and enjoying bountiful harvests.
This land, nestled in the heart of “black-soil country”, the most fertile and productive soil in Alberta, was first homesteaded in 1898 by Franklin and Florence Pierce. They came to Alberta as part of an excursion party from Michigan, staked a claim, and built a log cabin in a small clearing.
Times have changed from those early, often hard days, but the spirit of those by-gone pioneers lives on. At Prairie Gardens we continue to share the bounty and beauty throughout the growing season.
